The differences between 3KS and 2GH. See The swing arm dimensions. The swing arm of 2GH is 13mm wider than 1FM's and 7mm narrower than 4NX and 4YR at their wheel shaft. The swing arm pipe of 2GH and 4YR is 10mm thicker than 3KS's. 7mm is 10/36 inches. About 1/4 inches. The width of the swing arm pivot of 2GH and 1FM are the same 250mm. The width of the swing arm pivot of 4YR is 240mm, and 4NX is 262mm. The diameter of the pivot shaft of 2GH, 1FM and 2YR are 16mm, and 4NX is 20mm. The diameter of the rear axle of 2GH and 1FM are 17mm, and 4YR and 4NX is 20mm. So, 2GH's swing arm will fit with 1FM's frame and make 4.50 width wheel fit. 4YR and 4NX uses 5.0 width wheel. Please consider by your self the reason why I wrote the sizes of 4NX and 4YR also. The difference between 3KS and 3GM. The width of the swing arm pivot of 3GM and 1FM are the same 250mm. The diameter of the pivot shaft of 3GM and 1FM are different. The link unit of 1FM is very differnt from 3GM, 2GH, 4YR, 4NX and 3KS.(See next colum) The link unit of 3GM, 2GH, 4YR, 4NX and 3KS are mostly same. Although, I can't make a guarantee for it. |

The shaft diameter and the link block width are differnt from 3GM. So, if you want to make 3GM's arm fit with 1FM, you need to - make the collars of the link shaft for the left and right. - enlarge the bolt size of collars. - adjust the diameter of the link shaft with 1FM or 3GM. And you may need to cut the mount of center stand also. You should use the link block of 3GM. But, the shape of the lower link eye of 1FM is different from 3GM. If you use 3GM's, you must move the upper bracket because 3GM's shock was about 40mm longer than 1FM's. 3GM's arm must hit with the steps and the muffler. Move them outside. If you use 3GM's 5.5 width wheel, you need the 5mm offset drive sprocket for adjusting the chain line. Consider by yourself in case of other wheels. 3GM's arm must hit with the shock also. Enlarge the hole of arm like a picture. Is that allthings? It is all of I heared. Do your best. I am so lazy enough to avoid these things. Then I choice 4YR's arm and 4NX's 5.0 wheel for my 3KS. The shock length are about 5mm different between 1st and 2nd series but the difference may be caused by the difference of linkage shapes. |

FZ's 1st series have an original rear linkage for suspension. 2LM FZR750 was producted in 1987. Including FZ's 2nd generation, the later model's dimension of rear linkage had been changed into similor one. Most showy change is the shape of the lower linkage of suspension. The sahpe was changed into the eyebolt type from the U letter shape of FZ 1st.(see figure) And the position of 1FM's lower link bolt might be about at 13mm forword from others. If you required the ideal link ratio, you must make it move to backword. |

How to make FZ's power max In the valiations, the first model 1AE is most powerful. 110ps FZ750-1AE- was detuned into some variations. The changed parts are mainly - The igniter had been changed their advanced timing. - The exhaust pipe of lator models got the restricters in the end of pipe and the silencer. - The mainjets are down sized. 1AE uses 4 #105s. Use 1AE's igniter, exhaust pipe and mainjets. 2LM FZR750: 2LM's engine is stamped as 1FM. But, 2LM may have the digital single pickup. So, 1AE igniter can't be installed into 2LM without changing of pickups and some inner parts for the leftside pickup. If you want to get more power with 2LM, using 2MG igniter which give 107ps might be the best. BUT, 2LM's intake cams are different from 2MG. So that's max power may be the same as the full power model of FZX750 which has the same cam profile and 95ps. Though the special model of 2LM for North America get about 110ps.
